Spencer Management was set up as company to follow certain projects and dreams of its founder and General Manager, John Spencer. Mr Spencer started his 30-year career in the Television industry as a mail boy at ATN channel 7 in January 1974 and worked in many aspects of the industry until June 2003.

During the majority of that time, John held many senior executive roles and was instrumental in the start up of new stations and networks in the last 10 years.

John has always been interested in “games” from real life Soccer and Rugby League to board games and television game shows; they have all had an effect on his life. Coupled with the television industry its easy to see how entertaining people is one of this man's forays in life.

The Gold Coast Monopoly is the first project for this company and is the product of many years of work from John to pull all the pieces together and come up with a great looking game.

The company has many projects on its planning calendar including more board games, film scripts and projects, television pilots, “live” entertainment spectaculars, and celebrity tours to Australia.

Note: It was strange and incomprehensible to conclude mid 2007 the company no longer exsist, nor can anything be found about John Spencer, who apparently had such great plans.

At closer research it appears there is nothing more to find than John ever has worked under the names of Ausopoly Pty Ltd and Aus-Opoly Pty Ltd. Maybe Hasbro has "addressed" him on this?

The six6 tokens in this edition are very specific ones: Dolphin, Palm Tree, Surf Flag, Wind Surfer, Pelican and Kangaroo.
