(United States of America)
This game was produced for New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., 10th year Anniversary Celebration. This was distributed to only NUMMI employees and was never sold to the public.
The game includes the history of NUMMI, presidents for the first 10 years, company milestones and NUMMI trivia. The board is displayed as a normal monopoly game, however, spaces are labeled to coincide with areas and departments that existed at the plant in 1994. For instance, Boardwalk is called "General Motors Walk", and Park Place is called "Toyota Place". The railroads are named after each of the four company presidents.
NUMMI or New United Motors, was a joint venture between Toyota and General Motors, located in Fremont, California and established in 1984, after General Motors closed their Fremont plant in 1982.
This game represents a lot of automobile manufacturing history. To my knowledge, only enough games were produced to provide a gift to the employees of NUMMI at the time in 1994. Employees numbered approximately 4300.
