To mark the 80th anniversary of Monopoly, a new version of Monopoly Here & Now World Edition was launched.

An Internet survey was launched in order to know the cities that appear on the Monopoly. And on the 19th March 2015, the official anniversary day of monopoly, the results were announced. The winner was the city of Lima in Peru.

Own the world’s favorite cities in this Here & Now version of the fast-trading property game, Monopoly! The jet-set gameplay will be epic as you race around the world to visit the world’s most exciting places and buy locations. Every time you add another stamp to your passport, you get closer to the globetrotting win!

  • Here & Now version of the classic Monopoly game is world-class property-trading fun
  • Gameboard features exotic locations like the Sydney Opera House and the Eiffel Tower
  • Buy locations and stamps for your passport

The properties are the cities announced on 19th March, 2015. This is not a traditional Monopoly game. The street names are not only changed in this edition, but the rules have also changed a lot making it simpler for shorter games.

To win you now have to complete their first Monopoly Passport. The player travels around the world and gets visas (tokens that appear on each box early in the game) and place them on her passport. The first player to complete their passport (to the 6th or 7th purchased property) wins.

Also, the purchase prices have changed as each property of the same colour costs the same.

There are no houses or hotels. The price in the coloured box on the property on the board is the rent. There are no property cards.

Community chest, utility properties and the tax places have gone and only chance is left, but is joined by First Class and these are in all these places on the board.

Railway stations are replaced with the same "Monopoly Here & Now" property. The four corners are the original corners as they should be which shows this is an official version.

This version of Monopoly comes in the traditional "European" size box of approximately 40cm x 27 cm. As in the most recent editions from Hasbro, the tokens are shown through a blister (on the right).

The tokens are great monuments of the world: Statue of Liberty, Eiffel Tower, Leaning Tower and The Sphinx.

There are only three monetory values: 20, 100 and 500.

In the box is:

  • Game Board
  • 4 Tokens
  • 4 Passports
  • 42 Passport Stamps
  • 14 Chance Cards
  • 14 Here & Now Cards
  • 20, 100 and 500 Money
  • Locker for Tickets
  • Two Dice
